10th Anniversary Gala

Firebeat turned the big 1-0, and we went all out to celebrate a decade of dancing and good times. As our guests arrived, they were treated to hors d’oeuvres and unlimited champagne cocktails - the crowd favorite was the Mango Sparkler with mango, guava nectar, sprite, and of course, champagne.

The ballroom lights dimmed as the guests made their way to the main ballroom for a special performance by Isaac del le Reyes Flamenco Dance Group. On our trips to Barcelona, the passion and intensity of authentic flamenco dancing left such a deep impression on us (Andre and Ching) that we wanted to give our students the same experience. And boy, did Isaac and his troupe deliver! Our students were treated to a performance by classical dancers, singer, guitarist, and drummer that was heart-stomping, electric, and absolutely unforgettable.

The festivities continued in Studio Cali, which was transformed into a dining room with centerpieces by Hanaya Florists and catering by Rita’s. The Chilean sea bass with caramelized shallots and citrus salsa was so heavenly that even non-fish lovers were converted and asking for seconds. The grilled portobello with Havarti and roasted red peppers was a hearty and delicious vegetarian course that even carnivores devoured. After such a satisfying meal, it was time to dance it off!

The Rico Barr Band carried us through the rest of the night with beautiful ballroom classics and Latin hits. What a special treat to dance to live music! We danced the night away, and the only time spent off the floor was at the Photo Booth where we got silly with our friends.

With 10 years under our belts, we look back at how much the studio has grown and how big our dance family has gotten. Still, we remain as tight-knit and as inspired as ever. The success of Firebeat is sustained by the love and dedication of our staff and students. And for that, we thank our lucky stars every day. Here’s to ten more years!
